Whole focus

Introduction (warmer activity + teacher active engagement)

  • Review the rules with Joni “puppet”   (eyes are watching – ears are listening -  sitting nicely)

  • Introduce the theme” all about me/ my body- my sense.

  •  Count to 20 s0ng.

  • Today we will learn about (LESS & MORE) … Joni has a problem, he does not know how to tell more or less and we will help him.

  • Help Joni to count how many boys / girls in class?

Active Engagement: Quiz – Quiz Trade

  • Give all students different objects from (1 – 10).

  • Students move in class while the music on.

  • Beanbags, hula-hoop, dice – A3 paper laminated - cards have word.

 

Students will …

competition between two groups, students will through the dice and will count how many dote show then will put the bean bags in the  hula-hoop and see which circle have more, less or same by using their sense. (theme)

  • Art center -Ice cream Materials: Colour paper, glue, art recourse. 

  • In the art center, students will create an ice cream to make less or more flavors.

  • Materials: cubes, cup, cards laminated have numbers of square

  • Students will put the cube on the cards then make it tower to see which card has more.

  • Students will create cookies by play dough and put less or more with 2 color chips.

My event is how to manage my time on the carpet. 

When my MCT were observe me for the first time in (KG 2 – A) at “AL Awaeel Kindergarten”

Outcome: K2NS8: Recognize ‘more, less, same and not same in sets of  1-10 objects.

 

 


Describe

 I chose this event because I had some problems before delivering the lesson that makes me letter nerves when I finished the active engagement. I started to send students to the centers, After that, I remember I did not explain activities for the students in the carpet, but it was a good point if I explain the activities at the carpet I know all student want to be in the art center, I learned new things from this lesson. Then I explained for my focus group the activities to make them busy. As result of that I wanted to walk around the class to check other students if they need help and ask them questions to assess them back to my group. 

 

 

Analyze

I think this problem happen because I was thinking about Saif he did not respond to me in the whole focus even the whole lesson.  Therefore, I give hem choice to do the center then to go free choice center. I ignore his behave then he try to respond me. Then my MST took with them.

 

 

 Appraise

I learned from my event for next time I should manage myself.

 How: For example, put a timer, praise other students and be more confidence while I am delivering the lesson.

Why: To deliver the lesson in a short time.

 

 

Transform

In my next teaching, make sure to ignore anything that annoying me, remind them the rules and praise other students to encourage misbehave students.

This is a math lesson "More and Less" which I taught at AL Awaeel Kindergarten for KG 2 students. The important thing that I learned from my mistake is how to manage my time on the carpet.

Competition between boys and girls who get more point – teacher will count to 3 ( 1 – 2 – 3 … Go )  two students will try to build a tower with cube  then we will see who win,   who  has more?
