
Peer observation
Maitha Ali Salmeen student in Education department at HCT in year 3. 2. I observed her at AL Awaeel Kindergarten. She works with KG1 - E. She started the lesson with a welcoming through greeting both genders using” How are you, boys and girls? ” the students reply using “ Fine, thank you, “Ok, stand up everybody, let’s do hello friends “, “choose a friend next to you “, we all sang together, and she was moving with the stickers with me and singing with them and acting with them too. During that activity, she put stickers on their hands. The basic objective behind that action is to manage children to be awake and feel safety and proud to be in a social context that has a friend with him or her to talk with and share ideas. That also created a collaborative environment.
Then she moved to the lesson, and she told them about the lesson. To day we will learn about sorting for Math lesson - Learning Outcome (ADEC code and words): K2MDD1: Sort objects according to common properties.
Then, she reads a story called Are these his or hers? Maith asked children to think with their friends during reading a story (Turn and talk strategies.) After finishing the story, She explains the activities in the carpet then she sends students to the centers. She works with a focus group, and the other children are free to choose and from time to time. For example,” Remember for each center, we need just three students “then students choose the center that they like. After that, she gives them eight minutes for the activity and finally cleans up. (clean up, 3 minutes, helpers of a week 3 minutes and each one is responsible for the tables and the others help them.) After that, there is descending count for telling children to go to the carpet?( Everybody on the carpet, then count from ten to 0. That is important as it helps students to be accustomed to being organized and following rules.
How she close the lesson - Finally, the good work done by students, is presented by the same student to his peers and then there is a type of encouragement for the student that presented his work by the teacher through giving the student a sticker and then top ask the other students to do a big heart with action to great students. That is great and important in helping the student to speak in front of his peers. The teachers liked this strategy because help students to talk and they liked to use this strategy for plenary.
Area for development

Maitha needs to work in classroom management with misbehaves students.

Active engagement she is more attract to engage students.
