This is the mind map which I created for My Community Theme

Numeracy

 

-K1PA1: Explore pattern in a range of familiar environment.

- KWWP2: Share their writing with teacher and peer.

 

As a teacher we should prepare materials and resources, Students learn better through hands-on activities.

 

Each Student's level (E, M, D) has a different focus. 

 

# The Emerging: Explore pattern in a familiar environment.

 

That's mean student's try to copy an AB example. 

 

 Assessment: copy/ extend/ create a pattern AB example.

 

Steps:

1- Teacher will explain and repeat the example tree times, for example red, blue - red, blue - red, blue.

2- Students will copy the teacher example.

3- Then students will repeat the example and geese what come next. 

4- Students will draw and copy an example.   

   

* for Emerging student's teacher will give them simple activities, for example repeating by color.

 

 

# The Developing Explore pattern in a familiar environment. student's able to copy, draw with a marker an AB example. Also, write a type of pattern.  (AB pattern) 

 

  • Assessment: Complete a simple pattern, create a pattern ABC example.

Students will:

  • Draw a pattern an ABC or ABB shapes.

  • Write a type of pattern.

  • Color the pattern.

  • Use stamps to create an ABC or ABB pattern.

 

 

# The Master  Explore pattern in a range of familiar environment. that'a mean students abele to answer the teacher Question, make and create patterns without copying.

 

  • create a pattern in different materials and draw.

  • Assessment:  Self/peer checking. Formative (comments and checklist)  the teacher will write done the students answer, this help here to documenting and assess students. 

 

The teacher will ask students: What is this called? / what come next? / what this pattern called?

 

Students will:

 

Answer the teacher questions. 

- The teacher will review with students starting with, AB example > ABC > ABB > ABBA.

-Students will create a pattern with cubes.  Formative and Summative Create and extend

 

 

    4. Next step: The teacher will ask them to create a pattern during the project, for example, to make a wall for the garden.

Student’s abele to Know the sound of letters. (song of sound help them to know the sound of letters.  identify name a job doctor, fireman, nurse, engineer.

 

Assessment: pencil grip, product, copying and drawing.

on the letters laminated sheet.

  • Students can name what they draw, and copy letters in the project.

2- How am I kept healthy in my community?

3- How am I kept safe in my community?

4- How does my community develop?

What would I most like to be?

5- We have a class community, school community, and AL Yhar community.

* Who help us in our community?

6- What do you think will see if you went to the moon? 

7- How we travel to the moon?

8- What is the name of a person who travels to the moon?

9- what is Astronaut wear to travel to the moon? 

10- What you think about when you hear word night or day?

11- Do you think you could design a star catching machine.

*Identify that when it is nighttime on one side of the earth, it is daytime on the other side.

 

# The Emerging: Illustrate characteristics of day and nighttime. Student’s are abele to draw and color following the teacher example.  (Emerging student's needs  help)

 

Assessment: pencil grip,  color inside the circle. Product dust,  copying, and drawing.

 

Steps:

1- The teacher will give them an example of daytime and nighttime. 

2- Students will choose one of them to copy the example. (Teacher Guide)

3- Students will copy and draw a daytime or nighttime from an example.

Student’s abele to: Draw a night time or day time label by using the visual card. (Teacher guide them step by step)

 

  • Assessment: copying a drawing and letters, pencil grip, ordering the step correctly.

Students will:

  • Draw a night time or day time.

  • Write just word. (night time or day time)

  • Color their work.

Students will create their own journey to the moon by using their picture and materials.

  At the end of the unit students planned and created a journey to the moon. Students showed their understanding of the characteristics through drawings in lots What is community mean? And how they develop the country.Students understand of details. Students started the project where each group investigates and create a model of the moon journey. Students work in groups, and that showed how they were full engaged, interested,  collaboration, communication, and teamwork in the project. The whole class work in the project and the Emerging students can not do a big task so they ticket sales to the Astronaut.
